Askar

Askar published by IAFilm Productions 2007 - a fantasy novel suitable for adults and young adults. 400 pages.

Bronwyn Calder takes romantic fantasy adventure to new levels by setting ASKAR in an imaginary world rich with allegorical comment on politics, nationalism, war, religion and values. The hero, Jena, learns to wield great spiritual and political power but that comes at great personal cost. On her journey Jena discovers friends and foes where she doesn’t expect them, experiences love and betrayal, and develops from suspicion to understanding of other peoples.

A third volume of spiritual writing

This third volume of spiritual poetry, stories, and meditations This year we present a collection of writings around the theme — when things go wrong, who do we rely on?

This seemed a particularly appropriate theme after several years of trials and tribulations, not just the COVID pandemic but also, here in New Zealand, a deadly volcanic eruption, terrorist attacks, several destructive earthquakes and ongoing catastrophic flooding.

But we keep going, in faith that the Lord is in charge and that He can help us through it all. So we share these writings with you, hoping that they will inspire those who read them.
